About The Race

Welcome to the Mustaches For Matt race page! Every Thanksgiving since 2016, the year of my cancer diagnosis, a team of my biggest supporters have joined me in running Cleveland’s Turkey Trot. Mixed in the sea of runners, it was hard to miss the hundreds of participants with mustache-lined faces and sporting their matching t-shirts. This M4M event was born out of support of my health battles but has grown into a platform where we bring awareness to other young adults battling cancer.

Since making a full recovery from cancer, I have invested significant time in rebranding Mustaches For Matt. The race will always be an integral part of my journey however I want to expand in ways in which I can have a tangible contribution to my peers as they face similar adversity. ​It is my hope that I can I coach others through the depths of their health challenges and even further, aid them in overcoming hurdles so they can bounce back greater than before.

With the 4^th annual M4M race approaching, I’ve decided to take it up a notch! The event will no longer be held on Thanksgiving morning. Instead we are starting a new chapter with our very own 5k/1Mile race scheduled for April 30th located at Bonnie Park Dr Strongsville, OH 44136 which so fittingly is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month!

I will be partnering with Testicular Cancer Foundation to help educate and raise awareness of this common cancer that affects young adult males. We will donate all of the proceeds, after race costs, allowing TCF to help support these young adults battling Testicular cancer.
